We want close and better relations with neighbouring countries. Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Pakistan is part of this. Adviser on Security Nasser Khan Janjua played important role in this.
This was stated by Prime Minster Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while addressing upgradation projects of Zhob-Mughal Kot section and Killa Saifullah-Waigam sections here Wednesday.
Earlier Prime Minister was given a warm welcome upon arrival at site of inauguration of above projects by Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms Rahila Durrani, Leader of Opposition Maulana Abdul Wasay, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, MNAs, Senators, MPAs and senior officers.
Prime Minster was accompanied by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mahmood Achakzai, Hasil Bizenjo, Mian Iftikahr Hussain, Mushahid Hussain Syed Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch and Jam Kamal.
He said war is solution to no problem. If we live in peace our country and the region would make progress.
He said with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor not only Balochistan but entire Pakistan’s economic development is linked and this project would open new chapter of development in the region.
Prime Minister said federal government was taking priority measures for developing Balochistan and laying network of roads which would not only provide easy means of travelling but Baluchistan’s agriculture and mineral reserves would also get access to national and foreign markets.
He said Zhob-Mughal Kot is 81 Km long which would cost Rupees 9 billion. Killa Saifullah-Waigam road is 128 Km and it would cost Rupees 6 billion and complete upto 2017.
He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would be 2459 KM long which would connect Gwadar with Dera Ismail Khan through Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Quetta, Surab and Hoshab.
Prime Minster said Federal government would spend Rupees 200 billion during coming three years for completion of highways in Balochistan. Therefore pace of work on 443 Km Khuzdar-Shahdad Kot has been accelerated and it would be completed by May next year while Kalat-Quetta-Chaman section would also be completed in 2016.
Nawaz Sharif said it is his desire that all projects of Gwadar Port are of international standard. An airport would be built in Gwadar which would not only of international standard. He said Gwadar-Karachi coastal highway would be converted into Motorway and thus Gwadar would be linked with whole of the country.
He said work to improve railways system in the country was being carried out on priority basis which would not only provide better traveling facility but commerce and agriculture would also get fillip.
There are opportunities for generating electricity in the country which are being mobilized so that load shedding is ended from the country. He said Pakistan has large reserves of coal and if electricity is generated from coal there is no reason it is ended from the country.
He said Balochistan is rich in mineral resources and its people have first right on it. We want people to benefit from these reserves.
Government would do its best to popularize education in the province so that children are equipped with education.
He said growers would be given loans on easy installments.
He said recently TAPI gas pipeline project has been inaugurated. It would end shortage of gas in the country.
In his address Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said country would enter into new era of progress and prosperity with CPEC which would prove to be game changer fo the region. Federal government has always shown opened heart for Balochistan. It has important role in improving law and order situation in the province. Federal government was following peaceful Balochistan policy. CPEC would open up new vistas of progress and prosperity in Balochistan and unending employment opportunities so be would be created from t his project. He said with laying of rods network national cohesion would also boost and with inauguration of this project all negative propaganda would end.
Nawab Zehri said Quetta greater water project would soon be implemented and we would overcome drinking water shortage in Quetta.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Hasil Bizenjo, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Mian Iftikahr Hussain also spoke on the occasion.
Later Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif and others left for Islamabad.
