As with every big cinema release, there’s always a nice range of popcorn buckets and cups to purchase before you head into the cinema, let’s take a look at just a few Beetlejuice Beetlejuice popcorn buckets and cup combos from various cinemas worldwide.
Cinemark is off the mark with a whole range of themed cups and popcorn buckets, from the standard 160z cup set with Beetlejuice pattern to the jack-in-the-box style Popcorn Box and Tombstone Tub.
America always seems to knock it out of the park when it comes to themed cinema merchandise but the UK are very slowly but surely adding themed cups to its merchandise range for certain releases with Odeon and Cineworld dipping their toe into the water when it comes to movie specific merch.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, has been a resounding success which in layman’s terms usually means ‘ready for another sequel’ as the movie has grossed over $100M and has become the second most successful September release of all time.
With a cliffhanger ending the door is wide open for them to milk, I mean make, another movie.
Cineworld dived into themed cups and cup toppers but the one thing that is annoying to just about everyone in sight is the fact that some of the toppers are illuminated, that’s all you need in a dark cinema, a flashing Beetlejuice sign distracting you from your movie.
A great piece of merchandise but also a great annoyance for those who have the lights turned on within the theatre.
One of my favourite additions is this sandworm popcorn bucket as the worm is fully wrapped around your popcorn keeping it safe.
This particular scene in the sequel was as Tim Burton as it gets as it’s just cheesy stylistic mayhem and I loved it. The movie had this 80s charm in modern times and they did a stellar job of keeping that classic feel whilst also shooting with modern equipment. A fine balance but for me, it personally paid off very well indeed keeping in line with the tone and authenticity of the original.
Another popcorn bucket that flew off the shelves was this tombstone Beetlejuice Beetlejuice bucket. The popcorn is casually just chilling out in the back. This particular item proved to be so popular that it’s currently being resold on eBay for close to £200!

This Handbook for the Recently Deceased book folds open into a book-shaped Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Popcorn Bucket, not as practical as the others in this list but still, a very clever way to incorporate an iconic prop from the movie and fashion it into a convenience counter popcorn bucket.
For those who are still guessing which country this one is from, I’ll put you out of your misery, it’s an American release.
Bigger and better is the American mentality but slowly and surely the UK are introducing themed cinema goodies to their multiplexes and I for one cannot wait to see what’s in store for the future of cinema merchandise!
