The Orphan franchise is set to continue as Lionsgate has officially announced Orpha 3 with Orphan: First Kill writer David Coggeshall and director William Brent Bell set to return.
Our favourite child lookalike killer is back for another outing as Dark Castle Entertainment proudly announced alongside Lionsgate this week.
Norman Golightly, Co-CEO of Dark Castle Entertainment said:
With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident Orphan 3 will be a must-see movie for both current fans of the franchise and new fans alike.
The movie will star Isabelle Fuhrman in the role of Esther once again but how they made her look like a child again in Orphan: First Kill was rather clever. Isabelle isn’t a young girl anymore, she’s 33 years old and the techniques employed to give her that youthful appearance in the second instalment was a very impressive feat.
The franchise has grossed a combined $125 million worldwide but I certainly have a bone to pick with the franchise.
Take a look at what’s currently on Amazon as we speak, and take a good look at the front cover. Do you notice anything?

That’s us on the front cover of Orphan: First Kill. It’s still on Amazon to this day as the lead quote on the film but when you purchase the movie or see it in stores you’ll notice that our quote isn’t on the front cover whatsoever.
We’d been replaced!
Whilst mildly salty at the time I still found it quite funny how the original artwork is still on Amazon and was never changed. We’ll always be the first-choice quote for this title before we were swiftly replaced in true Hollywood fashion!
More details on this latest instalment have not yet been released but we look forward to finding out more and who knows, if we’re lucky we might be able to actually stay on the front cover this time!
