Netflix confirmed the long-awaited finale for Stranger Things as Stranger Things 5 will be the last season debuting in 2025 and this Christmas saw Netflix release a teaser of its upcoming 2025 slate which was met with angry responses from Stranger Things fans.
Squid Game, Stranger Things and Wednesday were all shown in this small glimpse into a very exciting 2025 slate but fans went on their little rants (as fans do) about the teaser which didn’t show any new footage of the upcoming shows.
Fans were in uproar on social media with comment after comment of their disappointment, I’ve embedded one of the main sources below:

I’m no expert here but glimpses at slates aren’t really meant to spoil or drop any exclusive footage, they’re just franchise marketing trailers so you can keep your pitchforks at home as no matter how much you moan this finale season is going to push the streaming platform to its limits.
After facing issues and production setbacks in 2023 due to the WGA / SAG-AFTRA strikes we finally get to see what happens to Hawkins in this final instalment.
Fans were treated to an episode list only a few weeks ago with a whole episode list dropped for Season 5, what more do you want?!
The following episode list for Season 5 was:
- “The Crawl”
- “The Vanishing of…,”
- “The Turnbow Trap,”
- “Sorcerer,”
- “Shock Jock,”
- “Escape From Camazotz,”
- “The Bridge,”
- “The Rightside Up.”
These episode names alone give you a small hint as to what you’re about to see and I love the last episode’s name of The Rightside Up as it’s a wonderful callback to the first episode titled The Upside Down.
Season 5 will reunite the group as they face off against Henry Creel and the Upside Down but Netflix has a lot more in store for us outside of the series.
I’m absolutely over the moon with excitement to check out Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein movie, the set pieces on this film were second to none. We know someone who worked on the film and whilst they couldn’t whisper a word about the production we know they’re a sucker for good immersive sets, so expect something spectacular on this one!
Real footage from Stranger Things 5 I’m sure is just around the corner but fans just need to chill out a bit, these guys know what they’re doing and the more emotional you get in their response the more they’ll be rubbing their hands together at the cash cow that will be sailing their way the second it debuts.
