The release date for Squid Game season 3 has finally been confirmed by Netflix along with this kick-ass brand-new poster and some brand-new stills.
We absolutely loved Season 2 of Squid Game and really thought the series dived much deeper into the characters and backstory in the second instalment which was much needed after the first season.
I hope that Season 3 brings a nice balance to proceedings in the aftermath of what was a cliffhanger and a half at the end of Season 2 (no spoilers).
Whilst Season 3 may be the last season in this particular series there has already been confirmation of spin-offs and even an English language speaking Squid Game with David Fincher set to direct.
This grand finale will hopefully have a happy ending for some fan favourites but with spin-offs in the works it’s clear that the games will continue long after this particular story wraps up.
Will we find out more about The Frontman (Player 001)?
Will the loose ends be tied up?
The official synopsis for Season 3 reads as follows:
Picking up where the second season left off, Season 3 explores the choices Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) will make amidst overwhelming despair.
As the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) plots his next move, the surviving players find their decisions leading to increasingly dire consequences with each round of the deadly games. This season promises to push the limits of suspense and drama, keeping viewers glued to the action.
Gi-hun and the Front Man will come face to face in the final season and we absolutely can’t wait to see how this viral and quite frankly incredible series finale unfolds.
Just think, Squid Game was refused for years and even Netflix weren’t confident about its performance when they took a chance on it.
Oh, how they’re eating their own words now!
