Tom DeLonge’s Monsters of California is due for a May release as this brand-new Sci-Fi adventure drama looks like heaps of fun.
Usually, the monsters that lurk in California mainly work in the executive offices within the movie/music industry (too soon?) but in this case there are UFO’s, Bigfoot and god knows what else in this sci-fi adventure extravaganza.
Monsters of California is inspired by early Amblin Films such as E.T. and The Goonies and with a fascination for all things UFO’s Tom DeLonge jumped at the chance to take us on a wild ride.
Tom said:
‘If you take skateboarders, UFOs and Bigfoot, which pretty much sums up my entire life, you get a wild ride that will remind everyone of our early love of Amblin Films that inspired so many’
Jack Samson (Zodiac, Family Guy), Jack Lancaster (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, The Bear), Jared Scott (The Lake, 13 Reason Why), Casper Van Dien (Starship Trooper, Sleepy Hollow)
Richard Kind (Argo, Spin City, Gotham) Gabrielle Haugh (Days of Our Lives, Jeepers Creepers III) Arianne Zucker (Days of Our Lives, Ladies of the Lake)
Tom directed and co-wrote the film alongside Ian Miller and the synopsis for the film reads as follows:
Among the blue skies and sunny vistas of Southern California lives teenager Dallas Edwards (Jack Samson) and his wayward friends Riley (Jared Scott) and Toe (Jack Lancaster), who are on a quest for the meaning behind a series of mysterious, paranormal events. It’s years on from his dad’s disappearance and, although his family are still grieving, they’re starting to move on with their lives… but Dallas believes there’s much more to what happened than meets the eye.
Spending his time in haunted houses, paranormal hunting and getting stoned with his best friends, he’s convinced that other life forms live among us, but when they uncover government secrets that his fighter pilot father left behind, they set off on a mission to find out the truth.
With the military – led his Uncle Myers (Casper Van Dien) – on their case and the help of his dad’s old colleague Dr. Walker (Richard Kind), the friends embark on a wild and dangerous adventure that takes them to the heart of UFOs and other unexplained phenomena. Can they uncover the truth about his father and unravel the hidden, extraordinary secrets held deep within secret Governments organisations, or will they pay the ultimate price?
