I think it’s safe to say that over the years an impossible Mission is really not that impossible at all but from the recent trailer that dropped today there may be a subtle hint that maybe some missions really are impossible which begs the question.
Could Ethan Hunt die in the final Mission Impossible movie?
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning tells the second half of the story that began in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt out to destroy an AI system called The Entity, which is housed in a sunken Russian stealth submarine. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and Dead Reckoning writer/director Christopher McQuarrie remains at the helm, working from a screenplay he crafted with Erik Jendresen.
The synopsis for the film reads: Our lives are the sum of our choices.
Very vague but the entire franchise comes full circle in this final instalment and maybe this one particular mission is too much for even a legend like Ethan Hunt to conquer.
Let’s be honest, he should have (and could have) died in every single movie, multiple times so it’s certainly long overdue.
There are winks and nods within the trailer that those close to Ethan could lose their lives with a certain scene in particular with a blurred-out Ving Rhames showing a female with blood dripping down their hand pointing towards a main character’s loss.
There is also another segment featuring a brief moment between Ethan (Cruise) and Benji (Simon Pegg) and it doesn’t look too good for Simon Pegg’s character I must say!
Could Ethan be of the same fate? Could Ethan Hunt die?
Cue more Tom Cruise running shots, cue more incredible first-hand stunts and queue one hell of a cinematic thrill ride as this franchise reaches its conclusion this May.
