Lindsay Lohan To Star In ‘Count My Lies’ Series In Works At Hulu

EXCLUSIVE: In her first TV series starring role, Lindsay Lohan is set to headline and executive produce Count My Lies, a drama in development at Hulu. The project, based on the recently published novel by Sophie Stava, comes from former This Is Us executive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger as well as 20th Television where the duo and their The Walk-Up Company are under an overall deal.

In Count My Lies, written by Aptaker and Berger, when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart, it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.

I hear Lohan is expected to play Violet. She executive produces alongside Aptaker, Berger and Scott Morgan of The Walk-Up Company. Stava is a producer. 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, is the studio.

This would mark Aptaker and Berger’s third series for the Disney streamer following Love, Victor and How I Met Your Father, both through 20th TV where they have been for 13 years.

Lohan has an even longer history at Disney. Her first five movies — theatrical and TV ones — were all at the company, The Parent Trap (1998), ABC’s Life-Size (2000), Disney Channel’s Get a Clue (2002), Freaky Friday (2003) and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (February 2004). Her biggest American TV series role to date was also at Disney, a four-episode arc on ABC’s Ugly Betty, which was produced by ABC Studios, now part of 20th Television.

She recently returned to the Walt Disney Studios for the upcoming Freakier Friday sequel, in theaters on Aug. 8. Lohan, who starred in the Netflix 2025 holiday movie Our Little Secret, is repped by IAG, Dave Feldman and Vision PR.

Count My Lies is Stava’s debut novel. Published by Scout Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, on March 4, it was the GMA Book Club pick for March. She is repped by CAA and Elisabeth Weed at The Book Group.

Aptaker and Berger served as executive producers and co-showrunners alongside creator Dan Fogelman on 20th Television’s hit NBC drama series This is Us. They also developed and executive produce the HIMYM spinoff series, How I Met Your Father, and were creators and executive producers of Love, Victor. Aptaker and Berger are repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
