Before every Sex and the City episode, Kim Cattrall always came in prepared with a variety of different angles and suggestions to see what would fit better for Samantha and the man she was having sex with. She said, “In the sex scene with the fireman, I suggested: ‘Let me do an orgasm with the sound of a fire engine, let me try different things.’ You don’t know if one’s going to be too much or not enough, so it’s nice for [the SATC crew] to have a few choices.”
All of the men who ended up filming sex scenes on Sex and the City wore a cup so nothing would actually show on screen. The cups were labeled “KC,” Kim Cattrall’s initials.

And because Lamar’s star was shining bright as heck, established fans (and newer fans) seemed to be doing deep dives into his personal life. This has led to an old picture of Lamar from 2022 resurfacing and going viral — why, you ask? Because the legendary rapper attended UCLA! In the pictures, he’s on his phone (we don’t know what he’s doing exactly — my best bet is he’s taking genius notes to maintain said genius). UCLA shared the pictures on X with the caption, “Photos [are] from 2022, but the lesson stays the same — UCLA is where you level up 📚✍️.”

It was quite an emotional experience, really, and I think these chant things are in some way connected to that…I went to bed thinking: ‘What could you ask them to do?'”
“They’re all squeezed in there, but they can clap their hands, they can stamp their feet, and they can sing,” said Brian May. “In the morning, I woke up and had the idea in my head for ‘We Will Rock You.'”

Big names like Aretha Franklin offered $100,000 to $250,000 to post bail for Davis. “Angela Davis must go free. Black people will be free. I’ve been locked up, and I know you got to disturb the peace when you can’t get no peace,” Franklin told Jet Magazine in 1970. “I have the money — I got it from Black people. They’ve made me financially able to have it, and I want to use it in ways that will help our people.”

Ricky Martin’s 1999 smash “Livin’ la Vida Loca” is the first song in music history to be recorded digitally (with zero use of analog) to hit Number 1. “Livin’ la Vida Loca’s” cowriter, Desmond Child, said: “We were the first to record and mix a record [in] what they called ‘in the box’ in Pro Tools. One of the things about that new sound of digital, it had a kind of metallic sound, and to compensate for that metallic sound, we made it drier than Latin music had ever been (which is more like ambient dance music).”
This hit changed the approach to music recording forever, according to Child. “We got [Ricky Martin’s] voice right in everybody’s face. It really worked, and from that moment on, nothing has ever sounded like it used to sound.”

While recording “Partition” in the studio, Beyoncé didn’t come prepared with any lyrics. She completely ad-libbed the song as soon as she heard the bass line and beat. In Beyoncé’s Self-Titled documentary, she revealed that she went into the recording studio without a pen and paper and just started singing into the mic. She said: “I’m in the studio and I hear this bass line and this beat. It has snaps, and it has two tracks — it’s very simple. It takes me back to when me and my husband first met and he’s trying to scoop me and he thinks I’m the hottest thing in the world.”
Beyoncé revealed that it was important for her to express her sexual fantasies in “Partition” because of the complex feelings women experience after giving birth for the first time. She said, “You could have your child and you could still have fun and still be sexy and still have dreams and still live for yourself. I don’t have any shame about being sexual, and I’m not embarrassed about it.”

And in Glass Onion, writer and director Rian Johnson confirmed that the last shot of Janelle Monáe’s character (Helen) reflected the renowned Mona Lisa painting. The Mona Lisa played a huge role in the film, with Edward Norton’s aloof character (Edward) bragging about owning it to his “closest friends.” Johnson told the Wrap: “The notion of squinting and seeing something different was baked into the structure of [the final shot]. Everything Edward says when he’s talking about the Mona Lisa in front of everybody [fuses with Helen] at the end. She burned the Mona Lisa, but the Mona Lisa lives on in Helen.”
