Today, for one day only Paramount Pictures set up a Scream 7 pop-up experience in London and we were kindly invited down early in the morning to check it out and to provide this review. The tickets for the event were completely free but as we got to check it out before the public we have to disclose the fact we were invited.
Right, now that’s out the way let’s talk about the house party shall we?!
Located in rap star Stormzy’s House Party in Soho, London this 7-storey night club building themed around a house was re-themed with a Scream twist as various posters and photos were hanging around the building and there were plenty of surprises along the way.
I just want to say a huge hats off to whoever scouted this location for the Paramount pop-up as they have done an excellent job scouting this venue. The venue has a classic American style kitchen, a basement kitted out with American stylings and numerous rooms throughout the house that easily lend a hand to that American house party vibe that Scream delivered in the original movie.
As you walk into the house you are free to do as you will for 60 minutes. There is an arts and crafts room where you can design your own T-Shirt, there’s a room featuring two actors where you step into your very own Scream scenario and there’s a bar in the basement to collect a few cocktails (seemingly unlimited for 60 minutes) as your house party commences.
With numerous rooms to explore within the house it’s quite cool to walk around the venue and go searching for all of these hidden Scream gems.
With the venue lending a hand with all of the incredible theming it’s a pretty simple re-skin for this movie promotion but it works so beautifully. I could stay in that kitchen all day and the basement bar is just incredible, it’s an Instagrammers paradise in there and with photo-ops aplenty you won’t be short of content within the venue long after this movie promotion has upped and left.
It’s a shame we only had 60-minutes within the venue as the time absolutely flew by but it was great fun and the fact it was free of charge was icing on the cake.
Just walking around the house certainly whet my appetite for the upcoming film. I cannot wait to check it out and see Neve Campbell back on the big screen in the main feature role in a franchise she belongs in, a franchise she created and a character she was born to play.
