The smash hit 2013 standalone horror sequel EVIL DEAD – starring Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez is getting an October 2026 release date and for the first time it’s going to be on 4K here in the United Kingdom.
The film makes its UK UHD debut with a 2-disc Collector’s Edition featuring a 4K restoration, blood-curdling new artwork by Krishna Bala Shenoi, the Theatrical and Unrated cuts of the film, a host of extras and a 64-page booklet. The release includes an O-ring with all the tech spec, allowing the beautifully designed slipcase beneath to be clean.
I’m a huge fan of this version of walking dead as Mia, a recovering drug addict, asks her brother and their friends to accompany her to a remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. When one of her friends, Eric, finds a Book of the Dead and reads aloud from it, he awakens an ancient demon that possesses Mia and unleashes hell…

A woman is front and centre in the carnage this time around in this cabin in the woods chiller and it’s gory, crazy and all round good fun!
Produced by the makers of the notorious 1981 film (Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert), EVIL DEAD was a box office hit, pulling in nearly $100 million, and is as gruesome as the original, with Entertainment Weekly saying the ‘delirious gross-out scenes… go further than any mainstream picture I can think of’. Billed as ‘the most terrifying film you will ever experience’, watching it in groovy 4K that claim is not far off the mark. It’s an absolute must for anyone who enjoys films from the comfort of behind the sofa.
