New COCO Ride Details Announced for Disneyland

Coco Ride Queueline

A brand new COCO ride is underway at Disneyland Resort as guests will be able to board the parks first ever Coco ride at a Disney Park.

Originally announced at D23 2024 not much information about the new ride has come to light and even after this particular announcement we’re still none-the-wiser on the finer details but we know a little bit more than what we did before.

Fans will able to spot Miguel Stepping into the colorful, wonderful world of Disney and Pixar’s Coco, fans will be able to spot favorite friends like Miguel, Dante, Héctor, and more as we remember Miguel’s unforgettable trip to the Land of the Dead.

This boat ride will coincide with the original Coco movie and Coco 2 whose production is well underway. A sequel absolutely no one wanted as the first movie was goddamn perfect but here we are, thanks Disney!

Mexican culture will be widely celebrated across the ride along with the importance of family.

The storyline will pick up a year after the events of the original film.

Coco Ride Disneyland

As we heard last night, Disney and Pixar’s Coco 2 is well underway, and Imagineers are working closely with Pixar to ensure this family-friendly attraction nods to both the original and upcoming film.

The queue, which will begin in Pixar Pier next to Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, welcomes you to a “casa museo” dedicated to the music of Miguel’s great-great grandfather, Héctor Rivera.

If it’s anything like the Coco space in the pop-up Pixar attraction in London it’ll be fantastic, I absolutely loved it in there as theming was outstanding and whilst there wasn’t really much to do inside (more a glorified themed photo-op space) it was insane to be catapulted straight into this iconic scenes from the movies.

Audio-Animatronics will be dotted throughout the ride as imagineers are working on bringing the skeletal cast of Coco characters to life!

From there, you’ll join Miguel and travel by boat through his memories of the Land of the Dead. It will truly be a beautiful, moving experience full of fun and surprises, leaning heavily into the music and emotion of the cherished Pixar film while inviting you to live Miguel’s journey alongside your own friends and family.
