On Thursday, August 7, NBC News shared that Brandon Blackstock’s representative confirmed his death after battling cancer for three years. The rep said he was surrounded by his family at the time and asked everyone to keep them in their prayers during this tough time. Right now, the exact date of Brandon’s passing remains unknown.
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Kelly Releases Statement Shortly Before Brandon’s Death
On Wednesday, August 6, Kelly Clarkson shared an emotional message on Instagram revealing that Brandon was ill. Because of his condition, she decided to postpone the rest of her August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. She also apologized to everyone who had already bought tickets and thanked them for understanding. As soon as she shared the post, fans flooded her comment section with prayers and love.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” the singer added.
