Del Toro’s Frankenstein Set Image Revealed

The first look image has been revealed from Del Toro’s Frankenstein and this spectacular set piece isn’t just a one-off the whole film is packed full of them!

Grandiose sets will make up the Frankenstein movie with heaps of body parts and rumours of a giant fire scene shot during production. There is a giant secrecy around this particular film which only amps the excitement but we’re led to believe that filming was moved to Scotland at some point but aside from that, not much else is known about this rather exciting instalment in the monster universe.

If the rest of the sets shown in the movie are even close to this jaw-droppingly beautiful set then we’re really in for a treat. The level of detail here and the beautiful architecture of the set is drool-worthy. It’s crazy to think that on the other side of that window is probably just a wooden-backed facade, as plain and as simple as you like.

Movie magic really is a beautiful thing to behold.

The photo in question shows the inside of Dr. Frankenstein’s lab. The film will be getting a 2025 theatrical run release which is great news for fans who were only expecting this particular movie to be released on Netflix.

Jacob Elordi will be playing Frankenstein’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of the classic Mary Shelley novel.

Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Oscar Isaac will also star with Ralph Ineson providing a cameo appearance in the film.

Countless prosthetic body parts were used in the production and we cannot wait to see what Del Toro has in store for us with this one.

The Mexican director will be producing, writing and directing the film for Netflix and has not been one to shy away from his desire to bring a Frankenstein movie to life.

Back in 2008, he was quoted as saying: “The best moments in my mind of Frankenstein, of the novel, are yet to be filmed.”

Toro loves gothic vibes and it shows in the architecture of the window alone and while this image gives us a mere glimpse at Oscar Issac as Dr. Franeknstein and his creation lying on the table beside him there’s enough in one image to know exactly how polished and vibrant this film is going to look.

They could have easily opted for CG scenes but instead opted for physical sets and this has to be commended!

It does seem like quite the time to be a movie monster fan with Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride!  and James Wan’s upcoming Creature from the Black Lagoon,

What a time to be alive!

Stay tuned for more information on Del Toro’s Frankenstein 2025 project as soon as we know more!
