Google Veo 3 has changed the landscape of AI content creation with ultra-realistic videos and these AI stormtrooper vlogs are just the beginning of a very exciting (but terrifying) content creation future.
These online stormtrooper vlogs are taking YouTube (and wider social media platforms) by storm as they’re delivering short, funny clips and giving a voice to these mysterious characters from the franchise and humanising them.
What’s so scary about these videos is just how realistic these clips are as AI is racing forward at a scary rate, it won’t be long until carbon copy replicas of us will be creating content without us even needing to lift a finger, imagine a vlogger who could have a whole AI version of themselves travelling the world without you needing to leave your home.
It’s incredible but scary at the same time.
A friend of mine created his own version of the stormtrooper vlogs with his own name and a friends, 60 seconds later he’d introduced me into the video and created a whole script a narrative (generated by AI) for this scenario. It was funny, hilarious and insanely realistic down the finest particles of a ship crashing into me as another Stormtrooper was jealous of my friendship with him.
These Stormtroopers are doing daily vlogs, skits and full blown mini-features where studios, editing, graphics design and digital artistry have been scrapped in favour of a few words on a screen and generated in seconds without paying multiple artists to do this hard laborious work.
Job Loss at Scale
The scariest thing about this introduction of AI is that these tools are capable of replacing entire production teams, there is no longer a need for voice actors, animators, editors, scriptwriters and even camera crews when a simple paragraph to generate such high-quality visual content.
Why hire a group of people when a machine can do it all in seconds fast-tracking a production schedule from weeks (even months) of graphics design to a matter of hours or even minutes.
There’s a line here that must be addressed at some point in the future otherwise livelihoods will be destroyed and whilst many say it’s the next wave of technological evolution its coming at a cost of that human touch from art and storytelling that is desperately needed.
No AI machine can replicate the human emotion and soulless content creation is not what we want our future to be.
An Unstable Future
You can’t deny how cool these vlogs are, they’re funny and fascinating in equal measure but also are flashing red warning signs across the internet as creative human jobs are very seriously at risk in the future.
