In the world of movies and TV there are often times when an original song comes on that proves to be very popular. So much so that it deserves to be played on the radio in real life. Here are our favourite fake songs from movies and TV.
Let’s dive in with a few of my personal favourite fake songs from movies which absolutely should be played on the radio.
The amount of rubbish on the radio nowadays can’t even compete with some of these absolute powerhouses showcased below!
Lustra – Scotty Doesn’t Know
With frontman Matt Damon at the helm, the song Scotty Doesn’t Know from the movie Eurotrip is a pop-punk style classic.
A song revolving around Matt Damon’s character sleeping with Scotty’s girlfriend Fiona behind his back until he finds out at a public event where this very song is played live for all to hear.
The song actually hit the Billboard Top 100 charts so including this one as a ‘fake’ song is a little hit and miss but we think it deserves a spot in this article.
Fronted by Russell Brand and featuring in not just one movie but two Infant Sorrow came onto the scene in the hilarious 2008 rom-com movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall but it wasn’t until 2010 that Infant Sorrow shined.
Get Him to the Greek showcased the band in an entire movie complete with an entire soundtrack so it’s impossible to choose just one song.
Complete with songs such as Beans, Bangers and Mash, Going Up, The Clap and of course African Child Infant Sorrow are perhaps one of the greatest bands to never have existed in the real world!
Dracula Musical – Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Jason Segel in a one-man show complete with puppets. I’m absolutely living for that!
This Dracula musical needs to happen or I will just die, die, DIE.
The Eurovision Netflix movie starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams took the streaming platform by storm. Husavik is a beautiful song revolving around the town where the lead characters were born in Iceland.
The song not only is better than 99% of real-life Eurovision entries it put Husavik on the map as tourism to the Iceland resort skyrocketed upon the release of the movie.
Prestige Worldwide – Boats N’ Hoes
Step Brothers brought us the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria in the iconic comedy classic Boats N’ Hoes.
Spinal Tap – Stonehenge
I’ve never been a huge fan of the film Spinal Tap, I went through the entire film without even cracking a smile and personally don’t get the hype around it at all BUT Stonehenge is one hell of a tune!
Bradley Cooper – Maybe It’s Time
A Star is Born starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga is probably one of the best showcases of musical talent I’ve seen on the big screen.
The soundtrack is absolutely incredible and with the hit song Shallow hitting every single chart that I can think of other songs kind of fly under the radar.
Jackson Maine (Cooper) delivered the beautiful acoustic song Maybe It’s Time. It’s certainly one of my favourites from this absolutely outstanding feature.
