FBI Promises Video Proof Of Death Amid Theories

August will mark six years since Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial for conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. Jail officials found the 66-year-old hanging inside his jail cell on August 10, 2019, in  New York City. After the news broke, the conspiracy theories started swirling, with many refusing to believe the disgraced businessman had ended his life. Years later, the viral theories haven’t gone away. But this month, the FBI claimed that soon-to-be-released video footage will shut down the rumors! Let’s get into who said what.

Trump Supporters Get Restless Over “Deep State” Promise

Let’s get into a lil’ bit of context first. On his campaign trail, President Donald Trump promised his supporters that together they would “demolish the deep state.” In this case, the “deep state” is an alleged secret network of powerful people manipulating government decisions behind the scenes, per the Associated Press.

Four months into his second term, he’s been spinning other theories, particularly about Kamala Harris’ bid for office and Biden’s term. His administration has also moved to declassify cases the public is interested in, including more than 63,000 pages of records about the assassination of John F. Kennedy. But some Trump supporters don’t think it’s enough, and they want the promised demolition — evidence, and retribution included!

According to AP, Trump’s Justice Department has not yet arrested the “deep state” actors like his supporters had hoped it would. Yet, as mentioned, Donald has posted plenty of cryptic videos and memes about Democratic politicians.

FBI Denies Cover-Up Claims About Jeffrey Epstein’s Death

That said, tensions flared this month after the FBI shut down two unsubstantiated conspiracy theories that have been animating Trump’s fan base the most. FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy, Daniel Bongino, dismissed suggestions that the government was involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s death or Trump’s attempted assassination in Pennsylvania.

As for Epstein, the FBI is apparently fed up with giving the same answer of self-harm. They’ll soon be providing the public with proof to back the cause of death. In a mid-May Fox News interview, Director Patel said: “You know a suicide when you see one, and that’s what that was.” Meanwhile, his deputy Dan Bongino added, “I have seen the whole file…He killed himself.”

Again, conservatives online aren’t buying it, demanding evidence. Bongino’s past statements as a podcast host were circulated on social media. In those statements, Bongino suggested the government was hiding information about Jeffrey Epstein. On social media this week, Deputy Director Bongino announced other cases the FBI is looking into. But Bongino’s comment section wasn’t rocking with the bone he threw them. Instead, some of the reactions circled back around to questions about Epstein.

FBI Deputy Director Explains What Forthcoming Video Will Show

In a follow-up interview on Thursday (May 29), Deputy Director Bongino said the FBI plans to release video from outside of Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell.

“There is video,” Bongino said on ‘Fox & Friends.’ “You are going to see there is no one there but him…there is video clear as day, he’s the only person in there and the only person coming out.”

Bongino also said, “…there’s no DNA, there’s no audio, there’s no fingerprints, there’s no suspects, there’s no accomplices, there’s no tips. There is nothing. If you have it, I’m happy to see it.”

At this time, the FBI is “working on cleaning” the footage. However, Bongino assured the published video will still be “the original,” so no one thinks “there were any shenanigans.” To be clear, though, the deputy director said the video will not show Jeffrey Epstein’s “actual” suicide. Additionally, he said, he understands the public’s demands for transparency. However, he encouraged patience and noted that not all information is the FBI’s to declassify.
