Go Behind the Scenes of Saw Escape Experience London

To celebrate the upcoming September release of Saw X we went behind the scenes of Saw Escape Experience London to give you a little glimpse behind the curtain of this incredibly popular Saw themed escape room.

Saw X Poster

Opening in 2022 the Saw Escape Experience located at 1 America Square, London has been flooded with horror fans from all over the glove willing to attempt one of Jigsaw’s games.

In association with Lionsgate the theming of the escape room is superb with certain rooms feeling like they’ve been plucked from a movie set. No expense has been spared in making sure that the sets look as close to the Saw aesthetic as possible.

From the iconic bathroom to a freezer room everything has been meticulously thought out and executed to perfection!

You can read our full review of the Saw Escape Experience HERE or you can scroll down to the bottom of this article to watch the full behind the scenes video. I want to express a huge thank you to the Saw Escape Experience for not only inviting us down a few months ago but for allowing us to film this behind the scenes content.

As the first channel to be allowed to do so it really meant a lot especially when it comes to a franchise I’ve loved for many years now!

Saw X will see the return of Tobin Bell back in the role of John Kramer. The original October release date has moved forward with the film now being released on September 29, 2023.

Saw X Release Date

The epic poster (see above) released yesterday feels like an old school Saw trap but one thing is for sure. Saw movie posters are about as creative as you’ll get and 10 films in they’re still creative, eye catching (no pun intended) and look absolutely incredible when up on the screens / in frames at the multiplexes.

This new trap is certainly intriguing. Is there a valve holding something away from his eyes until a timer runs out, how will he be able to solve the puzzle with those things over his eyes? What’s coming down the tube? I have many questions.

The cast for Saw X also includes Renata Vaca (“Midnight Family”), Paulette Hernandez (“Crown of Tears”), Joshua Okamoto (“Control-Z”), Octavio Hinojosa (Come Play With Me), Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman) and Michael Beach (Dahmer).

Saw X synopsis reads as follows:

Set between Saw I and Saw II a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.

Franchise favourite Kevin Greutert is on board once again with this one but he will be directing instead of editing this time around but he’s been a part of the franchise a long time and knows what’s what. I’m excited to see what direction this instalment goes in and I’m worried at the same time.

Placing a brand new film in-between arguably two of the best films in the franchise will be dangerous territory. You mess the timeline up and those films will have a little taint to them, compliment them and they’ll be onto a winner.

One thing is for certain, it’ll do incredibly at the box office. Saw films just have this know-how for bringing in audiences over and over again and 10 films down the line Saw X will do exactly the same. Even if the films aren’t as good as the rest (here’s looking at you Spiral) they still manage to perform well.

Just take a look at the box office earnings of each Saw film below taken from The Numbers:

Saw Franchise Earnings

Spiral arguably the worst performing of the entire Saw franchise (and rightly so let’s be honest) still managed to make a profit of $19 million at the box office but take a look at the other numbers. They’re incredible with only Spiral and Saw VI not being able to eclipse that $100 million at the box office.

A franchise that has grossed over a billion dollars and with Saw going back to its roots rather than spin-offs such as Jigsaw (even though that did incredible at the box office) and Spiral we may just be on track for another $100 million box office here.
