In the glittering world of Hollywood, image is everything. Think of all of these stars with their flawless skin and a full head of hair, but many issues plague us all as human beings. It’s just in the spotlight, the urge to conceal these issues becomes all the greater and hair loss is certainly something no major celebrity really wants to deal with.
From Jude Law to David Beckham, every male celebrity has come into contact with these issues and whilst some age and bald gracefully and others resort to surgery, many celebrities rely on products before procedure, if indeed the condition is still at an early stage.
Curious as to how these things work, and with a small bald patch encroaching on my crown as a result of bad family genetics I got in contact with Hairo, who kindly sent me their product to try out at home, and whilst it’s not perfect, it’s certainly a solid addition to the hair-density product market.

Hairo is a company that uses electrostatic fibres that cling to your existing hair strands and cover up any bald patches or unwanted thinning spots.
The company claims that it is waterproof and that it will last on the scalp for 24-48 hours after application and that it wouldn’t leave any marks or start dripping down your face like the regular classic hair fibres out there on the market.
Skeptical but curious, I decided to give it a try, and I was very surprised!

So Hairo comes in a great little compact container featuring the fibres, a mirror and an applicator. It’s small and can easily fit into a carry-on or pocket should you ever need a touch-up, but application isn’t easy.
The mirror included is a nice touch but if you’re putting Hairo on your crown, it’s the most pointless mirror on the planet. It’s definitely an accessory for beard touch-ups as opposed to adding it to your crown. Doing this on your own is very, VERY tricky and needs at least two mirrors to apply without you messing it up entirely.
Make sure you choose the right hair colour product for you and start applying. Weirdly, it applies like make-up to begin with but when it comes into contact with your hair the hair just increases in volume and those gaps in your crown/beard / other application area certainly look fuller.

What’s even better is that even with the naked eye or a HD camera, you can’t tell that you’ve added anything to your hair it looks completely natural.
Now all of the adverts show this perfect application of the product and the results genuinely are night and day but as it was my first time applying it myself, here is my REALISTIC look (not some advert fluff) of the transformation.
Naturally, I’d missed a little bit off the top but a quick touch-up and I’d be as good as gold.

Now the fibres are positively charged static so when they adhere to your hair, it looks great, it’s wind, humidity and even rain resistant but after getting some powder on my hands, I put it to the test. It didn’t wash off. I put my head under the shower, but it didn’t wash off. It was only when I added shampoo to my hair that it washed off.
My white pillow was unharmed after application and even 3 days later was still in my hair before I gave it a normal shower wash.
This stuff lasts!
Other than the application being a little tricky and it including the most pointless mirror of any cosmetic product I’ve ever seen, this stuff is a great way to cover up those patches until they either invent a permanent product solution or you can save up for a professional transplant.
It’s suitable for women and men for everyday use (albeit costly) or special occasions.
It’s a little confidence booster and it does genuinely work so avoid all the cheap knock-offs out there and try one for yourself. For one tub it’s priced at £24.90 but they have special offers on all the time. One pot is supposed to last one month, but if you’re only using it occasionally for events or trips out of the house, I can imagine you could stretch its lifespan out much longer.
I want to thank Hairo for sending me their product to review in exchange for an honest review.
