One day I’m sure we’ll see Jason Statham playing a different character in one of his movies but until then we have the first look at his latest film with this A Working Man trailer.
Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss’s daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.
David Ayer directs from a script he wrote alongside Sylvester Stalone and is based on Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel Levon’s Trade. Statham, Ayer, Stallone, Chris Long, John Friedberg, Bill Block and Kevin King Templeton all serve on the movie as producers.
In the trailer’s defence it’s very well put together and whilst it feels very familiar in every way shape and form there’s nothing wrong with disengaging your brain once in a while and enjoying a good old-fashioned kick-ass-athon!
Statham and David Ayer’s last movie was thriller film The Beekeeper which cleaned up at the global box office with a total that surpassed $150 million.
Ayer’s past work includes Suicide Squad, a film the director has been very outspoken about on social media as he’s desperately pushing for a release of his own cut of the 2016 Warner Bros. title.
I’m no film expert, but no matter what was shot for that film, absolutely nothing is saving it from being an absolute dumpster fire in every sense of the word.
The trailer for A Working Man already has gripped and interested me more than anything Suicide Squad could muster, from casting to delivery that film needs to be erased Men In Black style from our existence.
Anyway, enough of me getting sidetracked, enjoy the trailer below!
