The Arizona Cardinals hope to do better than their fate last season.

If that’s the case, they would like to make it past the Wild Card Round wherein they lost to eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams last year.

It wasn’t just any loss because they were dominated by their division rivals.

That’s why they are hoping to bridge the gap in 2022 and make a deep playoff run.

For that outcome to happen, perhaps they also need quarterback Kyler Murray to call their plays on offense.

FanDuel tweeted, “Kyler Murray calling plays: two TD drives. Kliff Kingsbury calling plays: zero TD drives.”

In some ways, it could be Kingsbury’s way of instilling confidence in the fourth-year player.

After all, they have a lot of money invested in him after Murray and the Cardinals agreed to a five-year, $230.5 million deal with $160 million in guaranteed money.

The last thing the Cardinals need is to have Murray’s confidence shattered.

Therefore, letting him call the plays is the team’s way of saying that he’s got this.

Cardinals Lost The Game

But while Murray led the Cardinals to scoring drives, the team lost their preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, 24-17.

It’s a tough loss because the Ravens had been riding on a 21-game preseason winning streak before that game.

However, what’s important is that Murray will have a lot of weapons to work with this season.

Even if DeAndre Hopkins will serve a six-game suspension due to using performance-enhancing drugs, the Cardinals added Marquise Brown to line up with A.J. Green and Zach Ertz.

Meanwhile, James Conner is looking to match or surpass his 15 touchdowns last season.

But none of that talent will matter if Murray won’t take that jump into elite quarterback status.
