Matthias Schoenaerts Joins Halle Berry In Fleur As Paris Shoot Begins

Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone), Makita Samba (Paris, 13th District) and Marton Csokas (The Equalizer) have joined Halle Berry in Fleur as filming begins in Paris this week.

Berry stars as a New York housewife who flees the U.S. and her husband of thirty years (Csokas) to reinvent herself in Paris as Fleur, an upscale escort and dominatrix carving out her own power and identity. As her past collides with her new life, the question isn’t just whether she’ll return, but whether she can.

Cameroonian American filmmaker and novelist Ellie Foumbi wrote the screenplay and directs. It is her second feature after France-set thriller Our Father, the Devil, which premiered in Venice in 2021.

Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios is financing and co-producing the picture in association with Victor Hadida’s Davis Films, which has taken French rights for distribution under the Metropolitan Filmexport banner.

Fleur is produced by Killer Films’ Christine Vachon (Materialists, May December), HalleHolly’s Halle Berry and Holly Jeter (Never Let Go), and Gabriel Mayers (A Different Man, Mad Bills to Pay) of Plot Twist Pictures.

AGC’s Ford, Miguel Palos and Zach Garrett are executive producers with Davis Films’ Hadida, Killer Films’ Pam Koffler, and Lorelle Lynch. Paris-based Vixens (Emilia Pérez) is providing production services.

Schoenaerts, who broke out in Michaël Roskam’s Bullhead and Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone, will next be seen in Craig Gillespie’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for Warner Bros and DC Studios, Terrence Malick’s The Way of the Wind and in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Violette.

Samba is best known internationally for his co-starring role in Audiard’s Paris, 13th District and has since been seen in Furcy, né libre and Kika.

Csokas has worked with Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, Darren Aronofsky, Jim Sheridan, John Madden, and David McKenzie, with career highlights including Asylum, The Lord of the Rings and The Equalizer. He will be seen next in Mel Gibson’s Resurrection.

AGC International are handling sales worldwide with UTA Independent Film Group and WME Independent co-repping U.S. rights with AGC.

Schoenaerts is repped by Rosalie Cimino, CAA, Agence Adequat and Apex PR; Samba is repped by Zelig; Csokas is repped by Independent Talent Group, Sue Barnett and Associates, and Mosaic; and Anant Tamirisa negotiated on behalf of AGC Studios.
