Watching iRobot has prepared me for this scenario but nothing has prepared the world for just how fast all of this is coming together as AI and robotics are advanced at a rapid rate.
Get binge-watching Black Mirror whilst you’re at it because this technology will be integrated into our day-to-day lives more prominently over the next 10 years than ever before and this week Dubai’s Museum of the Future has unveiled this absolute masterpiece, meet Ameca the humanoid robot.
This humanoid robot has lifelike facial expressions and interactive features and guests are invited to come up and speak to Ameca at the museum.
Located on the museum’s Tomorrow, Today floor it will serve as an intelligent assistant at the museum with human-like responses and precise movements.
She can communicate with guests in six languages including Arabic, English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish and Russian and is powered by a Tritium 3 operating system.
Ameca can also recognise facial expressions and uses voice recognition and there’s a little piece of the UK in Dubai for us all to enjoy, yes, Ameca was designed by UK-based Engineered Arts and is described as “the world’s most advanced human-shaped robot representing the forefront of human-robotics technology”.
The floor at the museum is a showcase of robots and technology but Ameca adds a whole new dynamic to the museum as guests will be able to communicate directly with this humanoid robot.
One day in the not-too-distant future there will be robot tour guides showing us around museums, mark my words and that’ll just be the start of it all!
After countless hours of binged sci-fi content I’m just about ready for what comes next, the question is, are you?
