It was a cold Thursday morning and I was up at 6am to begin my Aldi Prime Hydration journey.
For those of you who have clicked this article and have short Tik Tok attention spans then you can check out the video below (it’s easier to digest).
Aldi has primed its shelves to stock the latest internet sensation, Prime Hydration Drink.
The viral hydration drink created by two popular YouTube stars, KSI and Logan Paul, is available to buy for just £1.99 in Aldi stores nationwide on 29th December. The drink will be a Specialbuy – and as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
The drink, which is 10% coconut water, contains electrolytes and B vitamins and BCAAs, has zero sugar and around 20 calories per bottle. Aldi shoppers can choose from three different flavours: Blue Raspberry, Lemon and Lime, and Ice Pop.
So off I went to ALDI on my journey to find PRIME for a friend of mine who was looking for bottles for his nephew.
This week ALDI announced that every store in the country would sell three flavours of prime (limited to 300 bottles per store). Lemon Lime, Ice Pop and Blue Raspberry were on offer so the second I heard Ice Pop was available (a flavour I haven’t personally tried yet) I jumped at the chance to get down and grab a few bottles.
Limited to one bottle per flavour per person I got to my local ALDI to find a queue already forming at 7:30am, by 8am the car park was full and the queue behind me easily had 60+ people within it.
Inside the humans clambered towards a pile of Prime on the floor and picked up three flavours each in a frenzy that reminded me of the chase for Turbo Man scene from the Christmas flick Jingle all the Way starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
By 8:01am I was out of the store with three bottles of PRIME in my hand as I quickly put them in my pocket knowing full well here in Stoke I’d get jumped for a bottle of PRIME.
By 8:20am PRIME hydration was SOLD OUT!
So the infamous Ice Pop flavour, what did it taste like? Well, you’ll have to head on over to our full Prime Hydration review (still no.1 in the Google rankings for Prime Hydration reviews by the way) to see what I thought of this elusive flavour.
There is only Meta Moon left on my radar as the last PRIME drink to experience so you can rest assured that the second it becomes available I’ll get the review page updated for that one too.
It’s crazy to me how YouTube influence has caused this absolute frenzy for a hydration drink, if only it was healthier for you (I mean, it is compared to Lucozade but that’s not saying much) and people were rushing to actually get something that benefitted their health, maybe a future business idea for Logan and JJ?
