Whether it’s a 3D movie, IMAX, 4DX or a standard screening ALL films at participating venues on Saturday, August 31st will be charging just £4 a movie no matter the format!
Cinema First announced National Cinema Day today as this popular celebration of cinemagoing is back in its third year of operation.
There are over 630 venues across the UK taking part in this celebration as all tickets are £4 which is incredible and also typical as I’m travelling abroad this week and will miss this incredible opportunity.
First, I’m missing Oasis tickets going on sale and now this, I’m not having the best of luck this week!
Developed by the cross-industry body Cinema First, with the support of the Film Distributors’ Association and the UK Cinema Association, National Cinema Day was launched in 2022 and was an immediate success, achieving 1.46 million admissions in a single day. This increased to 1.56 million admissions in 2023. With so many cinemas taking part this year, 2024 promises to be even bigger and better!
Cinema First is also delighted to welcome a host of brilliant brands on board in 2024, including Coca-Cola™, Millie’s Cookies, Bolt, Open Table and Day Out With The Kids, further enhancing and elevating National Cinema Day to ensure a truly fun, engaging and affordable day out for everyone.
Supporting your local cinema is very important and getting bums on seats is paramount to the smooth operation of any local cinema. Get those snacks on the go, sit down and enjoy one of the latest blockbusters or why not stay at the cinema all day and marathon a few movies whilst you’re there, for £4 it’s a no-brainer!
Some IMAX and 4DX screenings can cost as much as £20 per person so make sure you go and see those formats if you can over a standard ticket price which for my local cinema is only £8 which is still a great 50% off but make sure you really scoop some bargains this National Cinema Day.
Ahead of this weekend’s event, Iain Jacob, Chair of Cinema First said:
‘National Cinema Day is fast becoming a Great British cultural event, sharing the joy and sociability of cinema across the nation. This year we have more support than ever, allowing us to show a fantastically wide choice of films at amazing value. Every year this event has got bigger, with more and more people sharing their love of cinema. We know that 2024 will be the best yet.’
