The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo has broken her silence following her arrest for fraud charges earlier this month.
“And through it all, GOD remains faithful,” the public affairs academic-turned-TV personality wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful🙏🏾.”
She continued in the post, which features a glam photo of herself set to gospel singer Koryn Hawthorne’s “Look At God” track: “Tune into @bravotv tonight for a new episode of #RHOP.”
Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were indicted and booked on a slew of criminal fraud charges on Oct. 9 — 16, to be exact, which include seven felonies for allegedly making false and/or misleading insurance claims. She’s also facing one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to an officer. Per TMZ, which first reported the news, the couple claimed they were burglarized while they were away on vacation last April. The reality TV star claimed that jewelry pieces and handbags were taken, but police later saw her wearing a diamond ring she reported stolen. The duo filed an insurance claim for $450,000 in property loss, according to the documents. The Osefos spent a night behind bars in Westminster, Md. before posting a combined $100,000 in bail.
After the news broke, Bravo pulled the premiere episode of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, the offshoot series that was set to feature Osefo and her family at its center. Now premiering a week later, on Oct. 21, the episode will feature The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas instead, with Osefo’s episode indefinitely delayed.
Wife Swap features stars of The Real Housewives franchise swapping places with regular mothers.
Osefo is one of the many stars confirmed for BravoCon next month in Las Vegas; however, it is currently unclear if she will still be attending.
The Real Housewives of Potomac launched its 10th season with a supersized premiere Oct. 5. Alongside Osefo, who joined the show in 2020, stars include Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart. This season also features newcomers Tia Glover and Angel Massie, as well as the returns of Jassi Rideaux and Monique Samuels.
