Rumours have been swirling recently about a new LEGO Stranger Things set and according to some murmurs last night (and an apparent set photo) it looks as though we’ll be getting The Creel House in LEGO format but I have an issue with it already, it looks a bit… rubbish.
I’m hoping that this is another elaborate joke or similar but the fan designs for this particular house look better than the artwork that has been doing the rounds on the internet so far. There has been no confirmation as of yet from LEGO regarding this 2,593 piece set and just looking at the build quality it just looks much cheaper / less detailed than what they’re clearly capable of.
Including mini figures such as Max, Lucas, Steve, Dustin, Jonathan, Mike, Eleven, Robin, Nancy, Will, Vecna, Mr. Whatsit (Vecna), and Holly Wheeler there are certainly enough characters to collect but there’s just something about the set that doesn’t sit with me.
How the house opens it just looks dull and lifeless, there’s no charm to it like what you’re expect to see within a creepy LEGO house set and for the rumoured price of $299.99 I just expected to see a lot more especially tied to such a big franchise.
The Creel House should play a big part in Season 5 of Stranger things, the finale chapter of the series that will debut on Netflix November 26th, followed by three episodes on Christmas and the finale on New Year’s Day (December 31st) so a January 1st release (rumoured) for this set certainly makes sense.
BUT, and it’s a bit but, if this isn’t real I can kind of understand it.
Let’s hope there’s some tweaking with this particular set before release because on face value I’m just not sold and I’m pretty sure I’d even turn down a free sample if offered because I know exactly what I’m going to say the second it’s constructed.
