As the highly anticipated Blumhouse sequel to Black Phone is due to be released this October AMC have revealed a kickass popcorn bucket to go with it themed to a Rotary Phone.
Here in the UK we never have any of these cool themed movie popcorn buckets, we’ll have the occasional plastic cup with a twist or a metal popcorn bucket with a nice printed design on there but the American chains really go above and beyond!
This new Rotary Phone Popcorn Bucket looks like the Western Electric Model 500 wall phone that is seen in the Grabber’s basement in the film.
The bucket opens at the back and comes with a large popcorn but it won’t be cheap, these popcorn buckets sell and sell fast regardless and are then resold for quite a pretty penny on eBay. The Scream popcorn buckets that were all the rage are now on Ebay for 3-5 times their original retail value.
Expect pricing for this particular bucket to be between $34.99 and $49.99 if we go off recent trends. T
his goes on sale August 16th at AMC Theaters and no online ordering or store availability has been confirmed.
The synopsis for Black Phone 2 is as follows:
Bad dreams haunt 15-year-old Gwen as she receives calls from the black phone and sees disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp. Accompanied by her brother, Finn, they head to the camp to solve the mystery, only to confront the Grabber — a killer who’s grown even more powerful in death.
But it’s not just this incredible design that you can get as part of the film promotion we also have The Grabber themed drinks cup and another popcorn bucket available from Regal Cinemas I believe (correct me if I’m wrong).
If only we had this sort of creativity in the UK, my movie collection would be racking up like no tomorrow!
