It’s that time of year again where Universal Studios open up a world of terror as guests step foot inside a variety of scare mazes at their annual Halloween Horror Nights event and boy oh boy do they have some treats in store for us at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 Orlando.
This year will feature eight haunted houses, multiple scare zones, the always incredible tribute store and the triumphant return of Premium Scream Night where you can exclusively attend the event before it officially opens with limited attendance, unlimited food and very short queues indeed.
We had the absolute best first visit you could possibly have last year as every maze was a walk-on and unlike the traditional conga-line queues you get through the mazes you are batched into your groups only so you get ALL the scares, it was AMAZING!
So let’s dive into this years line-up with some surprises still to come along the way.
Jason Un1v3rse
Jason Voorhees is coming to Halloween Horror nights as Friday the 13th fans will be going wild for this one as they’ll be visiting Camp Crystal Lake in no time!
From explore Jason’s cabin to coming face to face with the killer himself this is going to be one popular maze the second it opens, expect movie quality sets, costumes aplenty and complete immersion into the Jason universe with winks and nods to many of the classic films!
Fallout
Sadly Fallout is a little lost on me as I didn’t quite like the game nor was I a big fan of the series but I do think a scare maze would translate a lot better than the rather slow and sluggish delivery of both the series and game.
Mutant creatures roaming around a scare maze, that’s a big enough sales pitch for me as guests will start our beneath the surface in Vault 33 as she escapes a massacre and ventures to the surface.
Meet bounty hunters along the way and escape the scare maze, alive, hopefully.
El Artista – Haunted House
One of the independent mazes this year is El Artista as the story of the maze revolves around a tortured Spanish artist whose artwork comes to life in deadly and surreal ways.
The maze is set to be featured in 19th century Spain and expect lots of artwork possessing people.
This maze somewhat reminds me of Deadly Exhibits last year where paintings and other sculptures in a museum were taken over after a cursed object possessed the entire museum.
We had a tour of that particular maze during a HHN behind the scenes tour if you want to check that out and a few other mazes in the video below:
Hachett & Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters
The poster alone sells me on this one as it has a Wild West twist with some beautiful retro poster design.
The maze revolves around demons emerging from the underworld via an old well. This particular maze was teased during last year’s Slaughter Sinema 2 where B-movies were spoofed at every opportunity but now Hatchet & Chains will be brought to life as a horror spin on a spaghetti Western and it sounds great!
“In this Old West town, all hell is breaking loose. Masses of red-hot lava demons are crawling out of Hell’s Well and trying to possess everyone, melting everything in their path. As you flee from the post office to the bank, the prison to the graveyard, your only hope is Hatchet and Chains with their arsenal of mystical weapons,”
Dolls: Let’s Play Dead
Possessed dolls are just what we need this halloween season as a childhood nightmare is set to come to life before our very eyes.
“You’re about to become doll-sized and be hunted by toys that have been burnt, melded and stitched together by a twisted little girl. Then you’ll go under her bed and be stalked by toys she’s stitched together. You’ll end in her creepy Victorian dollhouse, where undead horrors await you.”
A maze full of creepy toys coming to life… if that doesn’t say nightmare fuel I don’t know what does.
Grave of Flesh
You know when you just read something and you instantly know that it’s going to be good, I think Grave of Flesh might just be it.
Instead of the dead rising up from the graves we instead go down to see them as ghouls aplenty will stalk you in this walkthrough experience.
This is your funeral where things go from bad to worse as flesh-eaters who feed on the dead will hunt you for eternity.
Bring it on!
Gálkn: Monsters of the North
Monsters and demons, woo! I think this years independent line-up is certainly leaning more into the dead side of things. There’s usually a bit of variety in the mazes here such as goblins and serial killers last year but this year very much is underworld and monsters and demons themed and I’m all for it if albeit a little variety wouldn’t go amiss.
In a remote northern village, a wicked being rises from the dead, bringing a horde of monsters and demons from the fjords to wreak havoc on the townspeople. You’ll face icy, horned, winged and wolfish fiends that gradually merge into one giant horror. Then you’ll try to escape the belly of the beast.
Five Nights at Freddy’s – ?
It is still unclear if Five Nights at Freddy’s is being turned into a maze or something else entirely as the details revealed by the park have been somewhat vague other than the franchise will be ‘presented in a whole new way’.
I’m not entirely sure how this will transpire into a maze or any other interactive style experience but it’s certainly one to look out for the second those Halloween Horror Night gates open for the first time!
With the new movie set to release this December the timing couldn’t be more perfect to throw Five Nights at Freddy’s back into the spotlight.
There are certainly more announcements to come from Halloween Horror Nights 2025 Orlando so we’ll be sure to update this page accordingly as and when that information becomes available.
