The brand new waxwork is now officially on display at the seaside resort so we went to visit KSI at Madame Tussauds Blackpool.
Social media megastar KSI who rose to fame by playing FIFA in his bedroom has come on leaps and bounds in Youtube fame with a string of charting musical hits, an official energy drink (Prime) and even a boxing career selling out arenas that even professional stars can only hope to achieve.
Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, better known as KSI is now immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds Blackpool.
The figure debuted on his fight night at the O2 Arena where he defeated two opponents by KO in one night.
Fans can now get up close and personal with the figure as it takes residence in the Festive Fields area of the attraction (after the mirror maze) and stands opposite Ed Sheeran in its own section.
The stage is themed with graffiti and an interactive button can be pressed which shines a stage light upon the waxwork.
Numerous KSI songs were blaring out around the figure and the costume worn by the wax figure is the same costume JJ actually wore in the Patience music video starring alongside Yungblud and Polo G.
When I found out I was going to get a figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, I was quite excited. I have never been able to see myself until now and it is just incredible and weird.
It is quite wild to be amongst all the people that have got a figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool; I’m honoured. I think my fans are going to have a lot of fun with my figure, maybe too much fun.
Senior attractions manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, Kyle Woodcock, said:
We’re delighted to welcome KSI’s new figure to Madame Tussauds Blackpool and honoured that he personally unveiled it.
He’s a huge music star, with a large fan base who will be keen to meet their hero as he takes to the main stage alongside an iconic line-up of musical stars in the Festival Fields area.
A team of 25 artists worked on the figure spending a total of 800 hours collectively. This includes 350 hours to sculpt the figure, and 187 hours to insert a head of hair.
The Tussauds attraction is going from strength to strength and with rumours of the Chamber of Horrors returning it’s great to see the attraction working on new ways to bring people through those famous doors.
KSI at Madame Tussauds Blackpool is certainly one of the more impressive models we’ve seen. The likeness is uncanny when the same can’t be said about other figures in the attraction (here’s looking at you Simon Cowell).
The stage set-up looks great and the option to change the lighting in the display area is great for any photographers out there looking to capture JJ in all of his waxiness.
Come and check out KSI at Madame Tussauds Blackpool along with a whole host of other famous faces!
