Welcome to Derry is one of 2025’s most highly anticipated releases right up there alongside Stranger Things as actor Bill Skarsgård promised an R-rated Pennywise in Max’s upcoming series.
It: Welcome to Derry sill see Bill return to his role as Pennywise but will also serve as executive producer on the series in what is promised to be a very gruesome horror series based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel and film adaptations.
If ripping poor Georgie’s arm wasn’t enough Bill promises that Pennywise will still be “pretty hardcore” in his approach within the series as confirmed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz.

Bill is setting up a 2025 of horror with a solid finale in 2024 (early 2025 for UK audiences) after recently starring as Nosferatu in the film of the same name. This gothic horror film has made waves throughout the horror fanbase and is being hailed as quite an astonishing horror film and is getting rave reviews across the board.
It: Welcome to Derry will premiere on Max in 2025. The series will star the previously announced Madeleine Stowe, Stephen Rider Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar. Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane serve as co-showrunners.
No specific synopsis has been revealed for the series we do know it will take place in the 1960s and dive into the origins story of the curse that has plagued Derry all this time.
We do know that one particular scene shot for the series will take place within a Graveyard, which isn’t very helpful to absolutely anyone reading this but keep an eye out for that one as a friend of a friend of a friend’s babysitter uncle’s dog walker did some work on set!
