It has today been announced that the owners of The Potions Cauldron Group have announced their plans which will see the former Wallace Hotel on Blackpool Promenade given a magical makeover.

The company already runs The Hole in Wand crazy golf chain with attractions in York, Blackpool and most recently Chester in addition to their own magical-themed drinks under The Potions Cauldron Brand.

These drinks are stocked in a variety of retailers such as HMV and Hamleys.

Set to open in 2026 The Wizard Inn will replace the Wallace Hotel which closed in November 2023 as this year will see a huge renovation and will open 8 rooms based on the company’s signature potions including ‘The Unicorn Essence’ and ‘Witches Brew’.

Each room will have unique characteristics linked to each drink and whilst the concepts released aren’t as detailed as I was hoping you do get a rough idea of what they’re planning.

Rest assured the theming of the rooms will be much better than the images displayed in this post. The Hole in Wand has some exquisitely well-themed holes at their mini golf venues so you can rest assured you’ll be whisked away to a magical realm the second you step inside your new wizarding room.

The hotel will feature 6 family rooms and two adults-only rooms.

The Potions Cauldron Group Managing Director Stuart Jarman said:

Blackpool has an eclectic offering of accommodation and there is no seaside resort more fitting to launch our first accommodation offering than the home of show and sparkle.

The hotel will offer guests the most magical time and will compliment the offer already available and be another first for Blackpool.

I’ve always wanted themed hotel rooms within Blackpool given its quirky nature and I feel as though Pleasure Beach Resort should go down this route for their new hotel planned much further into the future.

Blackpool is quirky and fun and the accommodation you stay in should also reflect that, I think this is a great idea and further expands the brand and helps to upsell the mini golf venue in the area where there will no doubt be a tie-in with the hotel.
