Young Thug Faces Backlash Over Kid Cudi “Rat” Comment

Kid Cudi and Young Thug are making headlines after a surprising moment that’s turning heads online. What started with Cudi’s revealing courtroom testimony quickly led to a head-scratching response from Thug, adding fuel to the fire in the ongoing legal saga surrounding Diddy.

Young Thug Said What?!

It looks like Young Thug wasn’t here for Kid Cudi’s recent testimony in Diddy’s sex trafficking and racketeering case. Thugger took to X on Thursday, shortly after Cudi testified that Diddy allegedly set his car on fire and broke into his home over a brief relationship with Cassie. In a now-deleted tweet, Young Thug reportedly wrote, “Dam cudi a rat lol.”

While it’s unclear if Thug’s comment signals support for Diddy—who’s currently facing a wave of sexual misconduct and abuse allegations—it’s worth noting that Thug has his own history with the courtroom. Just last year, he walked free after a lengthy RICO trial.

Social Media Reacts

Social media is lighting up with reactions, and many users aren’t holding back when it comes to Young Thug’s deleted post. Some fans backed up Thugger, while a wave of support poured in for Cudi. Some of Thuggers’ fans came quickly to his defense:

One Instagram user @pacmanfrmlbc said, 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀 give That 🥷 Cudi some cheese 🧀”

Instagram user @iam4honcho added, The women salty in the comments they must be @gunna fans 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥”

And one X user said,

Meanwhile, countless X users clapped back to defend Cudi:

Kid Cudi’s Involvement In The Trial

Kid Cudi’s testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing trial highlighted a December 2011 incident where his Porsche was firebombed with a Molotov cocktail. He alleged it happened because Combs was angry about his brief relationship with Combs’ ex, Cassie Ventura.

Cudi also described a tense encounter when Combs broke into his Hollywood Hills home. Recalling this incident, Cudi said, “Sean Combs and an affiliate were in my house and [Cassie] was in a car and she was forced to go with them over there.” Later, Combs denied involvement in the car fire but reportedly apologized to Cudi years afterward.

What makes this even more interesting is that Brian Steel, Young Thug’s attorney during his trial, is now on Diddy’s criminal defense team. Steel, who played a key role in securing Thugger’s release, has already made his presence known in court. After Kid Cudi’s testimony, Steel pushed for a mistrial, calling a prosecution question “outrageous” when they asked if Diddy had ever had someone killed. Though the judge sustained the objection, the bold question raised eyebrows and added even more heat to an already explosive trial.
