RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has departed for Iran as part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, ARY News reported on Monday, citing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to Iran is aimed at supporting Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Pakistan remains committed to pursuing a peaceful, sustainable and comprehensive resolution to the conflict in the Middle East, the military’s media wing said.
During his visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir will focus on diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing a peaceful resolution to the ongoing regional conflict, according to the ISPR.
The ISPR said Pakistan continues to pursue diplomatic initiatives to promote lasting peace and stability in the region, describing the army chief’s visit to Iran as an important component of Islamabad’s broader diplomatic efforts.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is accompanying the CDF on the visit, the Pakistan military’s public relations wing said.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, during which the two discussed the latest developments in the region.
According to Iran’s state news agency, Foreign Minister Araghchi also held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to discuss the evolving regional situation.
During the discussions, Araghchi stated that the United States should refrain from any military adventurism.
He further warned that any act of aggression by the United States or Israel would receive a decisive response.
He also said that if any regional countries participated in such aggression, Iran would respond firmly.
